Does Zerona Work?
Zerona is a great alternative to liposuction. As you already know liposuction is expensive, invasive, and kind of gross. Zerona is a laser that zaps your fat cells. It uses cold laser technology so it won’t burn your skin or even cause redness or swelling. There is no surgery, no recovery time, no scars, and no hassle. You simply spend 40 minutes 3 times a week for 2 weeks letting the laser work its magic while you sit back and relax.
The one similarity Zerona does share with liposuction is the cost. 2 weeks of treatment will cost you between $2,000-4,000. Ouch.
How Does Zerona Work?
The Zerona laser triggers fat cell death or adipocyte apoptosis. The content of these cells is released into extracellular space where it is eventually taken up by the circulatory and lymphatic systems. This process is not fully understood yet, but Zerona has shown to work regardless of whether or not we fully understand how it works. Robert Jackson, MD and associates explained:
“In this double-blind, controlled, randomized trial, we observed that low-level laser of the appropriate wavelength applied three times per week for 2 weeks can significantly reduce the circumference at specifically targeted tissue sites due to reduction in the adipose layer. To fully appreciate these results, further scientific exploration is required to gain a better understanding of the role the lymphatic and circulatory systems may play in the absorption of the released triglycerides, fatty acids, and other adipocyte stored material evacuated following the laser induced formation of the transitory pore. Further, a study must be conducted to assess the longterm maintenance of the circumferential loss.”
Zerona Clinical Trials:
“Participants in the treatment group demonstrated an overall reduction in total circumference across all three sites [waist, hips, bilateral thighs] of_3.51 in. (P<0.001) compared with control subjects who revealed a _0.684 reduction (P<0.071745). Test group participants demonstrated a reduction of _0.98 in. (P<0.0001) across the waist, _1.05 in. (P<0.01) across the hip, and _0.85 in. (P<0.01) and _0.65 in. (P<0.01) across the right and left thighs from baseline to 2 weeks (end of treatment). At 2 weeks post-procedure, test group subjects demonstrated a gain of 0.31 total inches collectively across all three sites.”
So Zerona caused an average of 3.5 inches to come off the waist, hips, and thighs (collectively) of the subjects. 2 weeks after the procedure they found that about .3 inches came back to all three areas (collectively). So the net number of inches lost over the course of a month was about 3.
Overall Value:
Yes it is expensive and still unclear if the results are permanent. But, in time studies will come out showing whether or not the results from Zerona are long-term. If they are then it is worth trying, especially if your choice is between Zerona and liposuction. If you can’t afford either, like most people, then you should check out our top rated thermogenic fat burners. They are definitely cheaper and most are guaranteed to work.
